So how do you take a stool sample at home ? HyStool® is a unique stool collection device for use with stool tests such as the bowel cancer screening test or the inflammatory bowel disease calprotectin test. Simply attach one of our collection bags to the toilet. Pass a stool into the bag, collect the required sample and then flush the bag and the contents away.
There is no need to reach inside a potentially contaminated toilet bowl to fit a HyStool® bag. Our stool collection bags are strong, lightweight, very flexible and fit any size of toilet. They are made from PVA which is environmentally friendly and will dissolve in water within minutes. They are safe to flush away.

Note: Go for a Pee before using this product. HyStool® bags will dissolve on contact with water so urinate before doing the test to reduce the chance of urine contacting the bag.

1. Prepare for the Test
Go for a Pee before using. HyStool bags are 100% water soluble and can burst if they touch water.

2. Make sure seat is Dry.
The bag fits to the Toilet Seat not the Toilet Bowl.
The toilet seat must be dry. If it is damp the stickers might not stick.
Dry the seat if required prior to use.

1. Prepare for the Test
Go for a Pee. Before doing the test as water going in the bag will cause it to burst.
Make sure the Toilet Seat is completely dry. The stickers will not stick if the seat is damp.

2. Fit the Bag
Fit the bag to the Toilet Seat not the Toilet Bowl.
Peel backing paper from Stickers. One by one as you fit the bag.
Leave a gap at the front This is to help any accidental urine discharge avoid the bag. Water in the bag can cause it to burst.

3. Open out the Bag
HyStool comes folded in pack Open up the bag before trying to attach it to the toilet seat.

4. Attach Bag
Peel off 2 stickers on one side of the bag. Attach those stickers to rear area of toilet seat. test.
Note the folded edges of the bag should be facing the sides of the toilet seat.

5. Fitting the Bag
Peel the backing from remaining 2 stickers. Pull the bag forward and attach as shown.
Leave a gap at the front to allow any accidental discharge of urine to miss the bag.

6. Paper
Place some toilet paper in the bottom of the bag.
Toilet paper helps prevent direct contact with what could be a wet stool and the bag. Water touching the bag can cause it to burst.

5. Flush the Toilet
Simply peel the stickers from the toilet seat. Allow the HyStool bag and any contents to fall into the toilet water. Then flush away.

6. After the Test
If the bag does not flush first time … Simply flush again.
If any adhesive residue is left from the stickers on the toilet seat simply wipe off with a damp cloth.
